When it comes to jobs, Doctors, Software Developers, and Engineers are always in demand. But which jobs are the most in-demand for the rest of us? According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), "Occupations and industries related to healthcare are projected to add the most new jobs between 2012 and 2022… Of the 30 occupations projected to have the largest percentage increase between 2012 and 2022, 14 are related to healthcare and 5 are related to construction.”

The BLS forecasts an estimated 15.6 million new jobs between 2012 and 2022. This is welcome news for those who are actively searching for work. Let’s take a look at the most in-demand jobs.

1) Technology

Software developers are in the highest demand of all professions, taking the number one spot away from Healthcare last year. The BLS anticipates growth in Technology to top 30% through 2022. Earnings are high, with a median salary of $90,060 annually. Most employers look for candidates with a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in computer science.

2) Healthcare

According to the BLS there will be 5 million new healthcare jobs through 2022, with the most growth in the Registered Nurse profession, at 19.6%. The biggest reason for this is the retiring Baby Boomer generation, and there are more jobs available than there are Registered Nurses available for work. Nurses have a median salary of $89,960 annually. Candidates must have a 4-year degree in Nursing.

3) Business

According to the BLS, the highest demand job in Business is the Market Research Analyst, which should see 132,000 new jobs by 2022, a growth rate of 31.6%. The job of the Operations Research Analyst however, has by far the lowest unemployment rate, and is expected to see 20,000 new jobs through 2022. Moderately experienced Analysts have a median salary of $78,600. Candidates must have at least a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.

4) Social Services

A variety of jobs fall under the umbrella of Social Services, including Attorneys, Police, Counselors, Teachers, and Psychologists on one end of the spectrum and Nail Technicians, Hairdressers, Personal Trainers, and Maintenance/Handyman on the other end. The BLS projects that there will be 74,800 more jobs for Attorneys through 2022, with a median salary of $113,530. There will also be similar growth for Paralegals, with a median income of $50,220. Attorneys usually have a Juris Doctor degree (equivalent to a Master’s), and paralegals have at least a Bachelors degree.

On the opposite end of this sector, the BLS projects an additional 13,500 new Nail Technician jobs across through 2022. Salaries for this profession vary by geographic location. Overall, the BLS shows Nail Technicians with a median salary of $19,220, median Nail Tech income in Columbia, S.C. is $39,380. Nail Technicians, along with Makeup Artists and Hairdressers usually have a diploma or certificate from an accredited beauty academy.

5) Construction

Construction job are in demand, and growth is rapid thanks to an improving housing market. On the labor side of the industry, Brick Masons are expected to experience 35.5% growth through 2022, or 25,200 new jobs with a median salary of $46,440. These craftsmen usually get training through a trade school in addition to doing an apprenticeship, and on-the-job training.

On the management side of the industry, Construction Managers will see a growth of 16.1% through 2022 with 78,200 new jobs and a median salary of $82,790. While in the past it was commonplace for a Construction Manager to work their way up the ladder into the position, today it is increasingly common for these professionals to have at least a Bachelor’s degree along with relevant, applied on-the-job experience
